How to stop your inbox getting filled with Linkedin group emails

Posted on November 30th, 2012 by jonwrightway

One of the first things most people do on Linkedin is sign up to a few groups. It’s good practice and aids in networking.

One of the down sides to this (as i’m sure some of our readers will have found out for themselves) is that you will start getting daily updates from these groups sent to your email. This is fine if you’re only signed up to a few groups or if you want to be kept informed of everything that happens in your groups.

For some people however this can be very annoying and its not immediately apparent how to turn these emails off..

Amazing tech fact 2 – Google or googol

Posted on November 24th, 2012 by jonwrightway

Google got its name from the mathematical figure googol, which denotes the number;

10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,

000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

That’s ‘one followed by a hundred zeros’

A fitting name for a search engine that relies on complex mathematics to find exactly what people want.

A googol has its use in comparing with other very larger numbers such as the number of chess moves that are hypothetically possible. Edward Kasner used it to illustrate the difference between an unimaginably large number and infinity. Unlike Google’s significance to online marketing, a googol has no particular significance in mathematics.

Anybody who can come up with a mobile app that replaces the toothbrush, we have a little plaque waiting for you.
