November 2012

One of the first things most people do on Linkedin is sign up to a few groups. It’s good practice and aids in networking.

One of the down sides to this (as i’m sure some of our readers will have found out for themselves) is that you will start getting daily updates from these groups sent to your email. This is fine if you’re only signed up to a few groups or if you want to be kept informed of everything that happens in your groups.

For some people however this can be very annoying and its not immediately apparent how to turn these emails off..

Company Director Jonathan Wright gave a short talk at @Rockstar_group event in Liverpool yesterday;

For those that don’t know what Rockstar are, they are a the UK’s number 1 mentoring organisations for entrepreneurs looking to grow or raise finance.

Headed by Jonathan Pfahl (Goldman Sachs ‘golden child’) and chaired by Oliver Rothschild (of the infamous Rothschild banking family). High profile Mentors include; Clive Jacobs (Holiday Autos), Sir Erik Peacock(knighted in 2003 for his services to international trade),, Mark pritchard (Digital look) and Chelsey Baker (media and marketing expert).

Speakers at this event were Jonathan Pfahl, Karen Gould and our Director Jonathan Wright.

The event covered sales strategies for entrepreneurs, Jonathan Pfahl gave a very inspirational talk about how to do things right as an entrepreneur. He listed some interesting case studies of businesses the group had already helped gain success and then went on to comment on some social media strategies that were used by other people to target himself.

A lot happens in a very short time online, Here’s a few things that happen every minute;

  • Over 695,000 Facebook status updates are made
  • 98,000 tweets are tweeted
  • 13,000 iphone applications are downloaded
  • Around 168 million emails are sent
  • Over 100 new Linkedin accounts are created
  • Around 695,000 searches are made on Google
  • Over 1500 blog posts are made
  • Over 25 hours of video is watched on Youtube

The saying “every minute counts” rings particularly true here!

Google got its name from the mathematical figure googol, which denotes the number;

That’s ‘one followed by a hundred zeros’

A fitting name for a search engine that relies on complex mathematics to find exactly what people want.

A googol has its use in comparing with other very larger numbers such as the number of chess moves that are hypothetically possible. Edward Kasner used it to illustrate the difference between an unimaginably large number and infinity. Unlike Google’s significance to online marketing, a googol has no particular significance in mathematics.

We are happy to announce the immediate release of our new totally simplified web mail system.

We’ve simplified everything and have made everything super simple to use. The new webmail system is also completely smart phone compatible and has been optimized for all major devices.

Existing clients: All of your emails and information from the old system will be automatically transferred to the new system and everything will be accessible on the same domain. We have installed a clone of our old version for anybody not ready to upgrade yet. We will run both applications side by side until all clients have switched over.

As always please do not hesitate to contact your account manager if you have any questions.

We are happy to announce we have just hired a very creative and skilled new designer – Mr Jan Sarfraz.

Jan will be supporting our consultants on new design projects and has already started to show off his skills in the office. We will be showcasing some of his work on Wrighwaydigital.com over the next month. We are also in the final stages of interviews for 2 additional developers.

To coincide with the hiring of our latest staff member we have launched a new design review system for our clients. The new system will allow you to have more control and give a greater level of input in the design process. Using it you will be able to preview and comment on designs as they are produced, allowing you to guide our creative staff to your perfect design.

Ask your consultant about the new system and they will be happy to give you a tour.
